I use Word (2011) every day and have no complaints, so this isn't anti-Word in any way. I'm not sure who's the one "not looking at the whole picture." Sheesh these arguments never make any sense. But if you desire to ever apply for a job now or in the future (one somewhere other than McDonalds that requires a resume or CV), you really have got to use Word and you don't really have a choice.
